We all know that WordPress has some pretty awesome free and premium themes available, but you need custom theme development that's as unique as you are.
With off-the-shelf themes, you’ve two options. Try and make your content fit the theme, or try and find a theme to fit your content.
At Toast, we don’t use off-the-shelf WordPress themes. We specialise in designing and building custom themes for larger companies that require a more bespoke CMS.
We have our ‘bare bones’ theme that we use as the starting point for all our sites. The most important thing about this theme is that it’s pretty empty. We build in what you need.
Why might you need custom theme development for WordPress?
For many small companies and start-ups, WordPress and a premium theme are often the way to go. But for larger businesses that are more established online and need more features and customisation, free or premium themes can quickly become problematic.
This if often down to the fact that a theme developer wants to sell their theme to as many people as possible. This means that they incorporate lots of features and functions to try and reach the largest market.
If you have a larger site already on WordPress or are looking to re-platform, a bespoke theme will give you everything that you need and nothing that you don’t, keeping the site lighter, quicker and easier to manage.
Custom admin experience.
None of the WordPress custom themes we develop leave our clients with a single WYSIWYG editor to try and manage the content.
We wireframe out sites to plan out content and then build custom admin pages in WordPress to match.
This avoids any confusion or frustration when managing your site and makes the CMS incredibly intuitive to use.
Custom Front End.
We don’t like to use more templates than are needed. This helps to keep the site manageable and quick. Our theme development means you get your site looking exactly how you want it rather than shoe-horning content into pre-defined layouts.
We also think that your time isn’t best spent trying to make layouts work using drag/drop editors, so we build in all the content sections you need on the backend to use on the front end of the site.
You need a custom theme for WordPress that just works, not one that is a daily battle to use.
