Websites use HTML to create the site and CSS to style it up. So, what does JavaScript do?

Javascript is an object-orientated programming language that is commonly used to create interactive effects and elements within web browsers.

It can be more complex and can sometimes take some time to understand compared to HTML and CSS. But it can add some great elements to your website.

For example, JavaScript can be used to create pop-ups, alerts, buttons, sliders – the list goes on!

It’s best practice to keep JavaScript files apart from HTML, CSS or PHP. Many developers would be able to add JavaScript into your site but it’s also important to keep it simple and to a minimum as it can easily make your site speed slower.

To conclude...

JavaScript is a programming language that can create pop-ups, alerts, buttons, motions and can enhance the interactivity of a site, used with HTML and CSS.
