Your hosting is where your website lives.

All websites need somewhere to live – whilst your domain acts as an address, it won’t be any good without an actual house to assign it to!

There are 1000s of hosting companies offering services from a few pence a week to 100s of pounds a month. Many popular ones include GoDaddy, WPEngine and SiteGround.

With hosting, you generally get what you pay for. Some cheaper services, such as shared hosting or budget hosting can include a lower monthly cost (great!) but a lot of issues and downtime (really not great).

The cheaper your hosting package, the lower its performance will be.

If you want your website to perform well, we recommend spending at least £30-£50 per month on your hosting. Many of these hosting packages also include great support, fast hosting but also a lot fewer issues for you and your website.

To conclude...

Hosting is where your website lives. It can be quite a complex world, but mostly, if you want high-quality, super-fast hosting with rarely any downtime, the cheaper packages won’t be able to provide this. With hosting, you get what you pay for!
