Cloudflare is a service that hosts your DNS records, making your site faster to load and adding an extra layer of security.
It does this by providing an additional cache that sits over the top of your site and any current caching plugins to serve up pages directly from the Cloudflare cache.
When used correctly, Cloudflare aims to shave off at least 1 second from your sites’ load time, so it can be a really handy tool if you are looking to speed up your site.
Cloudflare also adds an extra basic level of protection for your site by providing some protection from attacks such as DDOS.
Don’t have Cloudflare?
You can sign up for a free account to test it out and see what it does for your site.
Don’t forget that DNS changes should not be done if you are not sure what you are doing – you can end up taking your entire site down, so it’s best to make sure you have someone do it that’s experienced (like us!).
Already with Cloudflare?
If you already use Cloudflare and want us to host or look after your site, we will need access to your Cloudflare account so we can administer it (if needed).
There is a handy article on the Cloudflare site for how to sort this.
